So, Phil, how’s the new book coming along?
Quite nicely, thank you very much!
I was a bit worried, a few weeks ago, that I was falling behind schedule and my planned release date for Eclipse (March 2025) was looking a bit optimistic…
…but since then I’ve knuckled down, got the words on the page and I think I should have a shareable version ready by the end of November, ready for beta-reading* and editing. I’ve got a clear vision of the story I want to tell, and I’m excited by the way it’s developing with every draft and rewrite, so as long as I keep productive everything’s on track.
I’ll share a blurb in the next newsletter (when I’ve written it!), but I did go ahead and get the cover designed. It’s an important part of the process for me – not least because it makes it feel like a real thing, that needs to be finished, which is good motivation when it’s 6am and dark outside and I’m struggled to string together a sentence that doesn’t sound like it was written by a six year old.
I love it. I’ll leave you to ponder what it means for the book inside!
