I’m an indie sci-fi/fantasy author from North Hertfordshire who writes time travel adventures about flawed, relatable characters trying to navigate impossible situations. My Entanglement series – Echoes, Entrapment, Eclipse, and Enlightenment – has been praised by readers as “a clever story, full of twists and surprises” with “depth and imagination of storytelling that leaves you wanting more”.
The series follows the interconnected lives of characters trapped in the enigmatic city-state of Trinity, where ancient settlement meets technological innovation, and where everyone’s past choices have consequences that echo through time. From Estrel Beck discovering he’s trapped in a time loop via a message on a napkin, to Simeon Lagrange investigating murders while battling his own demons, my books explore what it takes to break free from the patterns that trap us – and whether we can trust ourselves to do it.
Despite a long and successful career as an IT analyst in both the public and private sectors, writing is something I seem unable to prevent myself from doing. By encouraging me, you’re either feeding an addiction or providing therapy – you can pick which. What started as a creative outlet has grown into a thriving indie author career, and I regularly appear at Comic Cons across the UK.
I also serve as Secretary of Royston Writers’ Circle, a writing group founded in 1979 that has nurtured local writing talent for over four decades. I’ve contributed to their anthologies, including the 40th anniversary collection and “There Are Many Ways of Getting Lost,” an anthology of stories written during lockdown.
I’m happily married with two sons, and I’ve promised everyone lavish gifts if I ever write a bestseller – so if you’ve bought one of my books, they all thank you. When my fingers are too tired to carry on typing, I like to relax by reading something by David Mitchell (either one is fine) or binge-watching Drag Race. I also enjoy travelling, picking up inspiration for the worlds I build from Truro to Tokyo.
Want to try before you buy? Sign up for my newsletter and grab a free ebook version of “Welcome to Trinity”, plus get regular updates about what I’m writing and where I’ll be appearing next. If we meet me at an event, I’ll happily sign your books and chat about time loops, flawed protagonists, and why Trinity is the most dangerous place you’ll never want to leave.
